2016 Loon Information
There is a pair of loons, and often a third loon is around also. Loons are keeping very close to the Back-of-the Moon Bay island again. We do not yet know as of Memorial Day if there is a nest yet...we will keep you posted!

If you are interested in learning more about loons on our lake as well as other lakes in the area, here is an informational website:

Also, here is an article that our very own Linda Boyd wrote about loons. What a great article Linda!

Did you know that we have loons on Flannery and Velvet Lakes?
Currently, the loons are nesting on Back-of-the-Moon Bay and it is important that there are no wakes around the loons. Please try to slow down, make sure you are not creating a wake, and look for baby loons!

Anyone with knowledge of vandalism or trespassing on the island near the nest can contact Loon Ranger, Linda Boyd, at 715-282-6007, or lkb282@yahoo.com lkb282@yahoo.com.
